Falltime has always been a season of big change for me. All of the big things in my life, both good and bad, have happened in those magic moments between September and November. I’m also a big nerd, and back to school happens. So that’s pretty exciting, too.
This fall, so far, has been no exception. It’s not been anything catastrophic, but it’s certainly keeping me busy.
1. Mr. T’s truck died. It lasted over 150,000 miles. But the engine went kaput and the mechanics have no idea why. Thankfully, Goodwill is happy to have donated vehicles, no matter what condition they’re in.
2. Dad broke his foot. Or, more accurately, the dog broke it. Seriously. Ludo catapulted himself across the room and landed on the foot instead of the carpet. Now it’s all purple and pretty-like, and I’m bringing him meals again. :D
3. The doctor screwed up Grandma’s prescriptions; they tried to give her a different version of the same stuff, but it was enough to get my blood pressure going. Thankfully, my pharmacy gets me (and by gets me I mean that they know I will flip the shit out if anybody jeopardizes my grandma’s health or my ability to have sex without the accompanying children) so they helped me figure it all out.
4. I QUIT MY TUTORING GIG!! Yep. That’s right. *Insert happy dance here.* The three of us found a way to help supplement my income so that I can quit my tutoring job (I’m still teaching out of the 3 schools). It’s not so much that I didn’t like the job (the kids were awesome), but my boss was a bit cray-cray (as the cool kids say), and the hours were shit. So now, all of a sudden, I have my evenings back. It’s amazing.
This week, when I went to the grocery store, I bought all sorts of things that require cooking because I will actually be able to cook. And I’ve been able to pick my running back up. And I might actually be able to blog with some kind of regularity again.
It’s all very exciting.
So now, my beautiful blog people, what does your fall have in store for you? I hope it is pumpkin flavored everything. Unless that’s not for you. Then I hope it’s chocolate and booze, per the usual.
